Workers Memorial Day was on Sunday 28 April. There was a gathering for all faiths and none at the Cathedral, College Green from 1pm to 2pm, and then a wreath laying at the Workers’ Memorial Plaque in Castle Park at 2.30pm.
Yet despite these figures health and safety regulations are under attack from Government legislation. Having union health and safety reps leads to a 50% reduction in serious injuries.
