Simon Fox, Chief Executive of Trinity Mirror, is to deliver an hour-long lecture on the subject of The importance of professional journalism in a post-truth world at the Bristol Business School Building at UWE’s Frenchay Campus on 7th February 2018.

The lecture will take place at 6.30pm, preceded by a reception commencing at 6pm. There will also be opportunities for networking from 7.30pm. Participants need to register for the event.

Fake or misleading news is polluting the internet and is a real problem, often spread deliberately by foreign states for commercial gain. In such a climate, professional journalism matters now more than ever before, in order to reliably inform, investigate, explain and campaign.

In his talk, Simon will give his perspective on the industry and on how Trinity Mirror is adapting its business to survive in the digital age.

Anyone interested in discussing this event can do so on Twitter using the hashtag #BristolLectures.
